We're excited to share with you: We've changed our name from Smile Clubhouse Ozark to Honeycomb Pediatric Dentistry!
During each dental appointment, your child receives a comprehensive cleaning to eliminate plaque and tartar buildup. Our team uses advanced tools to safeguard against gum disease and cavities, ensuring a healthy smile.
We apply fluoride at every visit to fortify your child’s teeth against decay-causing bacteria, providing a robust shield for their enamel.
Effective cavity prevention begins with knowledge. We guide parents and children on optimal brushing and flossing techniques to promote lifelong oral wellness and minimize dental problems.
Molars with deep grooves are susceptible to cavities. Our protective sealants create a smooth, bacteria-resistant surface. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry notes sealants can reduce molar cavities by over 70% within 2–3 years.
Book your child’s initial dental visit 6 months after their first tooth emerges or by age one. Early exams familiarize your child with the dentist’s office, and our team offers tailored advice to prevent decay and support oral development.
We recommend biannual check-ups to track your child’s oral health. Each visit includes a medical history review, thorough oral exam, cancer screening, cavity detection, and discussions about habits or concerns. X-rays are taken every six months to identify hidden issues.
Your child receives individualized coaching on brushing twice daily and flossing once daily. Our one-on-one sessions empower kids to maintain a radiant, healthy smile at home.
For cavities, we remove decayed areas and restore the tooth with natural-looking resin fillings, blended seamlessly with your child’s tooth color for an aesthetically pleasing result.
Though we aim to preserve teeth, extractions may be needed for severe decay, crowding, or fractures. Our gentle approach ensures your child’s comfort throughout the process.
For baby teeth with significant decay or failed fillings, we use stainless steel crowns, as recommended by the AAPD. These durable crowns maintain tooth function until natural loss, reducing future interventions.
When decay affects a tooth’s nerve, a pulpotomy removes the damaged tissue, fills the tooth with medicated material, and caps it with a stainless steel crown. This treatment effectively preserves baby molars.
Premature loss of a baby tooth may require a space maintainer to prevent shifting and ensure proper alignment for adult teeth, minimizing future orthodontic needs.
For anxious children or longer procedures, nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) provides relaxation via a small mask. Your child stays awake, and recovery is quick, allowing a return to normal activities immediately.
For extensive treatments or special needs, general anesthesia ensures your child is asleep and comfortable. A certified anesthesiologist oversees safety, completing all work in one visit with no recollection for your child.
For toothaches or injuries, contact us promptly for same-day care when possible. Here’s how to handle common emergencies:
Knocked-Out Permanent Tooth: Seek immediate care. Hold the tooth by the crown, rinse gently with water, and store it in milk. Bring it to our office. Baby teeth don’t require reinsertion, but an exam is essential.
Chipped Tooth: Collect the fragment, store it in milk, and visit us. Bonding the piece back may be possible.
Toothache: Brush and floss to clear debris. Check for gum swelling. Schedule an appointment. If swelling affects breathing, go to the ER immediately.
